Had to Help a Buddy Move 500 Boxes of Amazon FBA Merch | Why Small Items Rule & More Thoughts on FBA

This past Friday night a buddy of mine asked me to help him move some FBA inventory out of his parents house and over to his new house he just bought. What initially was "hey could you help me for 1 hour" wound up turning into moving over 500 boxes and taking about 6 hours and we were moving til 1am. Thought it was just kind of a funny story so wanted to share it but also the experience brought home two important lessons or points I wanted to share. 1. Small light items are king. They are easier to store and don't take up as much space at your own place, plus Amazon charges you more the larger or heavier an item is which is why he had to have this stuff shipped out of Amazon's warehouses and back to his house because he didn't want to pay Q4 increased storage fees and 2. My buddies products are doing okay on Amazon but not great, however that said he's also on Walmart, Houzz, Jet, Overstock and has a B2B sales model where he's selling his products to hotels, and senior care centers. This accounts for more sales than Amazon and he's not paying final value fees, yet he does get to use Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment to ship his inventory out. Anyhow, thought I'd make a quick video sharing the story. Do you guys have any similar stories? Is your inventory being affected by Q4 storage fees? Drop a comment below and tell us about it...
