I get asked a lot about the Amazon Affiliate program or the Amazon Associates program. I feel like the Amazon Associates program is like Adsense of 5 or 10 years ago. It tends to be what people hear about the most and tends to be what new online marketers set off to get started with, but in reality unless you have mega traffic it's going to be really hard to make money with it. Amazon pays very low commissions and while Amazon does sell higher Dollar value items and while you can sell higher priced items which have higher commissions, most Amazon sales are going to be cheaper items like a set of headphones, a book, a phone charger and earning 1% to 4% on that your going to have to make an awful lot of sales to make any significant commission. I personally don't put a ton of effort towards the Amazon Affiliate program although it is nice to have in that literally any item under the sun you can promote so if you can't find a better affiliate program at least you have some means of marketing a specific product. One thing I forgot to mention in the video is the Amazon Bounties are where your going to make all your money so by this I mean if you get someone to signup for a wedding registery or Amazon Prime account or other bounties that Amazon is pushing you oftentimes get a flat fee of say $5 or $10 or even sometimes $15 just for that action so that IMHO is going to be more profitable than making 4% off alot of other items. Typically however there's a better option out there than Amazon in terms of higher commission rate as well as longer cookie times. Are you of you having success with the Amazon Affiliate program?
