Hey guys, Johnny with Rules for Rebels back with episode 54 of Side Hustle Tuesdays. Today's story is a fun one, it's about a guy who makes bows as in archery bows, out of PVC plastic, and it seems pretty profitable too as there's about $2 in materials, but these bows sell for over $30. Another fun thing about today's side hustle story is today's side hustler actually learned how to do this from Youtube as well. Today's side Hustler Jeremy was a computer teacher with a passion for archery. One day he wanted to buy a bow, but having a wife and a new baby he couldn't afford one. He reached out to the site owner who sold bows and asked if he would be interested in bartering for something. It just so happenned that the bowmaker and site owner was looking to improve his online presence so he and Jeremy teamed up and in addition to Jeremy helping him upgrade his own website, Jeremy also began using him as a dropshipper. I think this is a really cool part of this story and an important part to why Jeremy was successful. As opposed to just randomly dropshipping stuff from Walmart or Ali Express Jeremy found a company with a unique product, contacted them, and worked out a dropshipping relationship with them. This is something each and every one of you interested in dropshipping could do as well and I think you're much more likely to be successful and to have a long term sustainable business than doing Ali Express dropshipping. Eventually the bowmaker Jeremy used as a dropshipper retired and Jeremy dropped the side hustle for a few years until one day while watching YOutube he saw some videos about how to make a bow out of PVC pipe and got back into it. He wound up using his bartering skills again to get into a Renassance Fair to sell and also setup an eBay account and his own Shopify store. To date he's making about $800 per month locally at fairs, another couple hundred from eBay and Shopify and all is going well and he continues to build his business. Watch today's episode to get the full scoop!!!
